Basketball Recap: Jenna Lee's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mt. Shasta over Anderson

Mt. Shasta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. The matchup between them and the Anderson Cubs didn't end well, with the Mt. Shasta Bears falling 56-37. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-31 back in December of 2024.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jenna Lee, who posted 16 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Lee a new career-high in points. Kaley Lanier was another key player, putting up seven points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Anderson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Renna Shriner out in front who had 16 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Taylor Ford, who earned 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks.

Mt. Shasta's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Anderson, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Mt. Shasta didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-35 defeat against Etna on the 17th. As for Anderson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-29 victory against Central Valley on the 17th.
