Osborne hasn't had much luck against South Cobb recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cardinals will square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Osborne has given up an average of 15.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Osborne is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 28 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Campbell on Tuesday. They lost 20-1 to the Spartans.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, South Cobb made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mays on Monday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 23-1 win.
Kennedi Williams made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in August of 2024. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Gabby Kitchens was a standout: she fired off three triples, eight RBI, and two stolen bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Tellann Brown, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs.
South Cobb always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .906. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Osborne's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for South Cobb, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-15.
Osborne might still be hurting after the 22-2 loss they got from South Cobb in their previous matchup back in August. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
