Los Gatos is a perfect 5-0 against Santa Teresa since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Los Gatos Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Santa Teresa Saints at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Los Gatos: 2.8, Santa Teresa: 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Los Gatos took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over King's Academy.
Chase Oberthier looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brady Simon, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zach Biller, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Los Gatos hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King's Academy struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Santa Teresa never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against San Lorenzo Valley as Santa Teresa made off with a 7-0 victory. The Saints not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18, 2024.
Jacob Guevarra was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Rivera, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
The win got Santa Teresa back to even at 2-2. As for Los Gatos, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Santa Teresa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Los Gatos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. It's a different story for Santa Teresa, though, as they've only averaged .243. Will they be able to contain Los Gatos' hitters?
Los Gatos took their win against Santa Teresa in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-3. Does Los Gatos have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Teresa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
