The Petaluma Trojans suffered their biggest defeat since December 22, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 54-23 loss at the hands of Justin-Siena. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Petaluma in their matchups with Justin-Siena: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Petaluma lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sydney Martin. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Petaluma struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Justin-Siena racked up ten assists.
Justin-Siena's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Washington, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. Washington hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Zapolski, who scored 21 points.
Petaluma's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Justin-Siena, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Petaluma will take on Sonoma Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sonoma Valley is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Justin-Siena, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against American Canyon at 5:30 p.m. American Canyon is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
