The Frontier Titans have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell to Centennial 48-42. While losing is never fun, Frontier can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while Centennial is ranked 177th).
Despite the loss, Frontier still got an impressive performance from Alexis Tinnin, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Tinnin has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lailene Araniva, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Frontier's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frontier will take on Ridgeview at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Ridgeview is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Centennial, they will be playing at home against Stockdale at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
