The Selma Bears will take on the Hanford West Huskies at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Selma is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2  runs per game  this season.
Selma will bounce into Wednesday's   match after  beating Kingsburg, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bears came out on top against the Vikings by a score of  5-2  on Friday.
 Jovani Tovar was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. He  tossed one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances with two  runs and one  stolen base. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in March.
 Tovar wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Matheo Roque, who  went 1-for-2 with two  RBI and one  double. That's the most  RBI  Roque has posted since back in May of 2024. Another  was  Braden Francis, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  run and one  double.
 Meanwhile, Hanford West didn't have quite enough to beat Reedley on Friday and fell  3-1.
 Selma is  on a roll lately: they've  won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Hanford West, they now  have a losing record of 10-11.
