The Adelanto Saints will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Vasquez Mustangs at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Adelanto focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 25 to 8 on the offensive boards, a fact Adelanto proved. They walked away with a 50-39 win over Apple Valley.
Nina Lacy continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. The match was her 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Acacia Netto, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Vasquez had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it four last Tuesday. They skirted past Castaic 41-38.
The win got Adelanto back to even at 6-6. As for Vasquez, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4.
