When it comes to explaining why Mississinawa Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aron Hunt. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Hunt set a new season high mark in steals with two. Another player making a difference was Thomas Gower, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
The victory got Newton Local back to even at 4-4. As for Mississinawa Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Newton Local will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dixie at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Dixie is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Mississinawa Valley will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Franklin Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
