The Cathedral Catholic Dons's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Torrey Pines Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on February 14th. Neither of those teams managed to put together many goals in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Last Thursday, Cathedral Catholic and Academy of Our Lady of Peace finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, after a 7-1 finish the last time they played, Torrey Pines and Sage Creek decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Torrey Pines' defense stepped up to hand Sage Creek a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. Given Torrey Pines' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Sage Creek is ranked 517th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
With that draw, Cathedral Catholic's record moves to 14-5-5. As for Torrey Pines, they pushed their record up to 12-4-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Cathedral Catholic beat Torrey Pines 2-0 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does Cathedral Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Torrey Pines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
