Basketball Recap: Jordan Lemmon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cornerstone Christian Academy over Christ the Cornerstone Academy

Cornerstone Christian Academy played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders, falling 61-36. The match marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Cornerstone Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Lemmon, who posted 19 points. Lemmon's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Carter McCollum, who had 11 points.

Leading Christ the Cornerstone Academy to victory were Will Jackson and Bryce Haywood. Jackson dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Haywood put up 14 points and seven assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Jackson has scored at least a third of Christ the Cornerstone Academy's points. Mac Hunt was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Cornerstone Christian Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Christ the Cornerstone Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
