The Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves will face off against the Animo Leadership Aztec Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Wiseburn- Da Vinci is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Monday. They blew past Lennox Academy 17-3. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Thomas Carpenter and Edward Sanchez made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Carpenter struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Meanwhile, Sanchez tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February of 2024. At the plate, Carpenter scored two runs while going 2-for-5, while Sanchez scored two runs while going 1-for-4. What's more, Sanchez also posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.
In other batting news, James Mara was a standout: he went a perfect4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Victor Marceletti, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Animo Leadership never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Animo Bunche with a sharp 21-0 win.
Like Wiseburn- Da Vinci, Animo Leadership also got a great game from a two-way player: Salvador Lopez. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Lopez was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Adam Enriquez and Alejandro Gutierrez did most of the damage at the plate: Enriquez went a perfect2-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Gutierrez scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Axel Serrano was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Everything went Wiseburn- Da Vinci's way against Animo Leadership when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Wiseburn- Da Vinci made off with a 16-1 victory. Does Wiseburn- Da Vinci have another victory up their sleeve, or will Animo Leadership turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
