If the Rancho Cotate Cougars were riding high off their 87-29 takedown of the Piner Prospectors last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Rancho Cotate lost to the Panthers on the road by a decisive 74-60 margin on Thursday. Rancho Cotate was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nina Boblitt, who scored 12 points. Izzy Harumi was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Rancho Cotate's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Santa Rosa, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rancho Cotate will take on the Lobos at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Santa Rosa, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Windsor is ranked 473rd, while the Panthers are ranked 497th).
