When it comes to explaining why Foothill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jay Perez. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Perez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 15 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Paige Bak, who scored seven points.
Brea Olinda got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Liz Han out in front who scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that Han scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Sanborn, who scored 13 points.
Foothill has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Brea Olinda, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foothill will take on Yorba Linda at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Yorba Linda presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Foothill in California (Yorba Linda is ranked 260th, while Foothill is ranked 670th). As for Brea Olinda, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against El Dorado at 5:30 p.m.
