After flying high against Don Pedro  last Thursday, Vanguard College Prep came back down to earth. The Vanguard College Prep Lions were just a bucket shy of victory  on Monday and fell  59-58 to the Stockton Christian Eagles. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
 Vanguard College Prep lost  despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being   Xavier Lopez, who  posted 17 points. Lopez has been hot recently, having  posted 16 or more  points the last three times he's  played.  Julian Castillo was another key player,  putting up seven points and seven  assists.
 Stockton Christian's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Jayden Chamblee, who  scored 21  points. That makes it four consecutive games in which  Chamblee has scored at least a third of Stockton Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Joshua Jordan Henderson, who  had 11 points.
Vanguard College Prep's  loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 11-11. As for Stockton Christian, the  victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.
