The Wheeler Bearcats can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 43-36 victory over Logansport. The win was just what Wheeler needed coming off of a 49-25 loss in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wheeler to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abby Ordonez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Lexi Cutka, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Logansport saw an underclassman step up: Aracyn Good scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Good hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Lydia Goad was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Even though they lost, Logansport were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Wheeler's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Logansport, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Wheeler and Northwestern will round out the year against one another at TBD on Saturday at. Northwestern is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Logansport, they will face off against Argos at TBD on Saturday. Hopefully Argos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Thursday.
