The De Pere Redbirds will venture away from home to square off against the Seymour Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (De Pere 3.3, Seymour 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
De Pere came out on top against Notre Dame Academy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Redbirds took their game against the Tritons 10-6. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 4, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Colton Setzer and Will Nikolay did most of the damage at the plate: Setzer got on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs, while Nikolay went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four stolen bases gave Setzer a new career-high. Isaac Herlache was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Seymour waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Cougars as they made off with a 15-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Thunder, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Cayden Staffeldt was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Beilfuss, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Seymour was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Campbellsport only posted a batting average of .118.
De Pere's record is now 18-8. As for Seymour, their record now sits at 17-7-1.
De Pere came out on top in a nail-biter against Seymour when the teams last played back in May of 2023, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redbirds since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
