The Mission Bay Buccaneers struggled with assists on Wednesday (the Eastlake Titans had 15 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Mission Bay was outmatched by Eastlake at home and fell 68-19. Mission Bay was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Jackie Quiachon and
Audie Caban, who each put up six points. Caban also led the team in rebounds with 12.
Eastlake found their leader in underclassman Jordyn Worley, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. Catrice Chan was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Mission Bay and nudges their season record down to 2-10. As for Eastlake, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Mission Bay will be home for the holidays to greet La Jolla at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. La Jolla presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mission Bay in California (La Jolla is ranked 425th, while Mission Bay is ranked 952nd). Eastlake will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Scripps Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Scripps Ranch is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
