Paradise is 2-8 against Durham since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Paradise has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Paradise is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They lost 13-3 to East Nicolaus.
Paradise saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Kegg, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Durham). They were the clear victors by a 23-2 margin over Pierce on Tuesday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Jack Stephens made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stephens was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Brevan Ring looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Ely Martinez and Jack Drake did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Drake got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four RBI gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Perry Phillips, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Durham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Durham's record now sits at 14-7. As for Paradise, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Paradise couldn't quite get it done against Durham when the teams last played on April 9th as they fell 8-4. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
