The Canyon Cowboys waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 77-21 win over Castaic. With Canyon ahead 54-9 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Josie Regez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with seven steals and six assists. Regez is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 17 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Ford, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Castaic struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Canyon racked up 20 assists.
Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. As for Castaic, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
Canyon will head out on the road to take on the Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hart knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully the Cowboys like a good challenge. As for Castaic, they will be playing at home against the Centurions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Saugus presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Coyotes in California (the Centurions are ranked 196th, while the Coyotes are ranked 988th).
