The Westview Wolverines will face off against the Fallbrook Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Westview's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against Oceanside by a score of 5-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.
Tyler Bissessar tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Westview let Charles Jaskowiak and Ethan Holeman run wild. Jaskowiak got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Holeman went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Holeman a new career-high. Mahir Desai was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fallbrook, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Vista on Saturday as they made off with an 11-3 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Eric Calderon was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Camden Hoff was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Fallbrook is undefeated when Hoff posts two or more runs, but 11-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Teague Lucy, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Fallbrook pushed their record up to 14-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Westview, their win bumped their record up to 20-7.
Westview's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Wolverines have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Fallbrook, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Westview continue to outrun the ball?
Westview came out on top in a nail-biter against Fallbrook in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 8-7. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
