University has gone 8-2 against Urban recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blues at 4:00 p.m. University will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
On Thursday, University made easy work of The Bay School and carried off a 10-1 win. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.
Jett Messenger was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

In other pitching news, Sabin Verplaetse looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
Back at the plate, University let Mattie Grisso and Alexander Coleman run wild. Grisso got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one triple, while Coleman went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Felder, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in 15 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Urban fell victim to University and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Red Devils, falling 12-0. The loss continues a trend for the Blues in their meetings with the Red Devils: they've now lost five in a row.
University pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Urban, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Urban's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: University hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .434. It's a different story for Urban, though, as they've only averaged .235. Will they be able to contain University's hitters?
University took their victory against Urban in their previous matchup on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Blues have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
