The Madera South Stallions lost against the Torres Toros back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Madera South took a 53-35 bruising from Torres. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Madera South in their matchups with Torres: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Madera South still got an impressive performance from BRIANNAH LORTA, who scored 18 points. That was a full 51.4% of Madera South's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. MAYRILIN VASQUEZ was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Torres' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sabrina Cerrillo, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Cerrillo hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Kaylin Perez, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Madera South has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season. As for Torres, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-10.
Madera South does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Torres also has no future games currently scheduled.
