Baseball Recap: Yucaipa Triumphs

Yucaipa posted their closest win since May 5, 2025 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Cajon Cowboys 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Thunderbirds: when they faced off against the Cowboys on Thursday, they had to take a 6-5 defeat.

Xavier Romero made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Yucaipa's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 2-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Jason Franco and Zach Scribner did most of the damage at the plate: Franco went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI, while Scribner went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits Franco has posted since back in February.
