The Foothill Mustangs lost against the West Campus Warriors back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Foothill was beaten by the Warriors 58-19. Foothill has not had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joyce Runner, who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Zeniah Thompson, who scored seven points.
West Campus was led to victory by Loismary Justice and Leilani Edinburgh. Justice scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Edinburgh scored 18 points along with seven assists and two steals. Edinburgh hasn't dropped below two steals for 14 straight games. Talia Quady was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Foothill has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for West Campus, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Foothill will take on the Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Campus, they will head out on the road to face off against the Nighthawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Natomas will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
