The Bishop Diego Cardinals will play host again and welcome the Dunn Earwigs, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Dunn took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Bishop Diego, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, everything went Bishop Diego's way against Paraclete as Bishop Diego made off with a 47-27 win. Given Bishop Diego's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Paraclete is ranked 908th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Galilea De la cruz was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Bishop Diego's points. Another player making a difference was Jaymi Coronado, who scored 9 points.
Meanwhile, Dunn took a serious blow against Valley Christian Academy on Friday, falling 62-12. Dunn has struggled against Valley Christian Academy recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Bishop Diego pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Dunn, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Bishop Diego against Dunn in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 as the squad secured a 84-18 victory. Will Bishop Diego repeat their success, or does Dunn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
