Solon is on a 14-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Copley is on a 14-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Solon Comets will be home for the holidays to greet the Copley Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Solon didn't have too much trouble with Wadsworth on the road as they won 60-43. Given Solon's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Wadsworth is ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Even though Copley has not done well against Revere recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Copley strolled past Revere with points to spare, taking the game 56-37.
Izzy Callaway continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points. Those 29 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kami Ayoup, who scored 15 points.
Solon's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Copley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
Solon couldn't quite finish off Copley in their previous meeting back in January and fell 64-62. Will Solon have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
