Baseball Recap: Oaks Christian Has No Trouble Against Westlake

Westlake typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Oaks Christian proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Warriors 12-5. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Carson Sheffer was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Quentin Young, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-5.

Oaks Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westlake only posted a batting average of .231.

Oaks Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Westlake, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5.

Oaks Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
