Video: Cody Bellinger prospect video
Watch the future Dodgers' star show off all his skills while at high school in Arizona. When Clayton Kershaw takes the mound Tuesday for Game 1 of the 113th World
Series against the Houston Astros, some Texans might see him as a
traitor.
The three-time Cy Young winner for the Los Angeles
Dodgers is a Texas native after all, from Highland Park (Dallas). Dallas
isn't Houston, but Texas is Texas, and the Astros are seeking their
first World Series title in their second appearance.
If Kershaw feels conflicted — likely
not — there are three others that might share the sentiment. Kershaw's
teammate Ross Stripling, a long reliever, attended Southlake Carroll
(Texas).
On the Astros side, relievers Chris Devenski (Cerritos) and Joe Musgrove (El Cajon) grew up in Southern California.

Other prep notes while glancing at the two 25-man rosters:
• Of the 50 U.S. states, California has the most natives with seven, including five on the Dodgers. Georgia is second with five, three on the Astros.
• None of the 37 U.S. players attended the same high school.
• Other states represented: 3 — Florida, North Carolina; 2 —
Illinois, New Mexico, Connecticut, Virginia and Arizona; 1 — Louisiana, Colorado, Oklahoma,
Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Iowa and Tennessee.
• Four natives
of unincorporated U.S. Puerto Rico are in the Fall Classic, three on the
Astros and the Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez, who hit three home runs in
the deciding game of the National League championship against the Cubs.
• Dodgers' first baseman Cody Bellinger set a national league record for home runs this season as a rookie (39), but hit just one dinger as a senior at Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.). He was known as more of a pitcher.
• Lance McCullers did it all at during a four-year career at Jesuit (Tampa, Fla.). He went 20-3 with a 0.82 ERA with 263 strikeouts in 154 innings pitched. He was equally adept with the bat, hitting .402 in his career with 16 homers and 103 RBIs.
