The Manteca Buffaloes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 68-43 margin over Hughson. That looming 68-43 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Manteca yet this season.
Manteca can attribute much of their success to Brea Vieira, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 5 assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Izabella Sanchez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Hughson still got an impressive performance from Kareena Kang, who scored 13 points. The matchup was Kang's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Gracie Quillen was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Manteca's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Hughson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manteca will be home for the holidays to greet Edison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Edison will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 691st, while Manteca is ranked 124th). Hughson will be home for the holidays to greet Sonora at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
