The Lower Moreland Lions entered their tilt with the Springfield Township Spartans with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lower Moreland secured a 53-47 W over the Spartans on Friday. Given Lower Moreland's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Spartans are ranked 300th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Lower Moreland to victory were Briana Mcferran and Dani Brusha. Mcferran scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Brusha scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Brusha is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Maddie Broderick was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Lower Moreland pushed their record up to 14-5 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Springfield Township, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.
Lower Moreland will head out on the road to take on the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Upper Dublin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully the Lions like a good challenge. Springfield Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
