The John Adams Academy Patriots had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 50.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They strolled past Westlake Charter with points to spare, taking the game 52-33.
John Adams Academy found their leader in underclassman Elliott Schwartz, who scored 22 points along with eight steals and seven assists. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Schwartz has scored at least a third of John Adams Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Sabbagh, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Anthonia Nwaukoni and Lena Tahod certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Nwaukoni scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and two steals, while Tahod scored 13 points along with three steals. Tahod hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
John Adams Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Westlake Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
John Adams Academy will head out on the road to square off against Fortune Early College at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Fortune Early College's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests. As for Westlake Charter, they will be playing at home against Leroy Greene Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Leroy Greene Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 15.
