It was a good run, but the DC International Dragons unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a hard 49-33 fall against Georgetown Day. DC International was down 45-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
DC International lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Vanae Biddix, who scored 16 points along with five steals and two blocks. Biddix is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Kai Davis was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Georgetown Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nevaeh Roberson, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Madisyn Moore, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
DC International's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9. As for Georgetown Day, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
DC International will head out on the road to take on Smith Jewish Day School at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Georgetown Day, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holton-Arms at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Holton-Arms is ranked tenth in Maryland, while Georgetown Day is ranked first in District of Columbia).
