Basketball Game Preview: Adelanto Saints vs. Granite Hills Cougars

Adelanto has gone 8-2 against Granite Hills recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Adelanto Saints will head out to square off against the Granite Hills Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Adelanto will be strutting in after a victory while Granite Hills will be coming in after a defeat.

Adelanto is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Barstow: they outscored them in every quarter. Adelanto put the hurt on Barstow with a sharp 67-46 win on Wednesday. The Saints didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Adelanto's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dae?Ani Durio, who posted 16 points and six rebounds. Durio has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1112th, while the Hawks are ranked 447th).

Adelanto is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Granite Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Everything came up roses for Adelanto against Granite Hills in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 75-35 win. In that game, Adelanto amassed a halftime lead of 51-19, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
