After losing to the Mission Valley Vikings the last time they met, the Council Grove Braves decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Council Grove blew past Mission Valley 59-28 on the road. That 59-28 margin sets a new team best for Council Grove this season.
It was another big night for Brycen Palmquist, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolby Rose, who scored 11 points.
Council Grove's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Mission Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Council Grove will look to defend their home court on Friday against Osage City at 7:30 p.m. Osage City is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Mission Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against West Franklin on Friday. West Franklin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mission Valley in Kansas (West Franklin is ranked 62nd, while Mission Valley is ranked 211th).
