Baseball Recap: Beverly Hills Sets Scoring Season-High Against Centennial

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beverly Hills). Everything went their way against the Centennial Apaches on Thursday as they made off with a 24-2 win. Considering the Normans have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cameron Park made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Park was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three).

In other batting news, Jayden Ibarra was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Beverly Hills: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Emet Polack, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Beverly Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .682. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Beverly Hills is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Centennial, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Coming up, Beverly Hills will head out on the road to challenge Inglewood at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Sentinels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.47 runs per game on average), something the Normans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Centennial, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Morningside at 3:15 p.m.
