Despite the loss, St. Joseph Academy still got an impressive performance from Luciana Aguilar, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Aguilar scored a full 41.4% of St. Joseph Academy's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Pamela Torres, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
St. Joseph Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for San Dieguito Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
St. Joseph Academy and Santa Cruz will face off at 4:30 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Santa Cruz presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Joseph Academy in California (Santa Cruz is ranked 251st, while St. Joseph Academy is ranked 588th). San Dieguito Academy and Trabuco Hills will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
