Castle Park extended their losing streak to ten on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-18 in the process. They lost 18-0 to the Mar Vista Mariners. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mariners this season, with their most recent loss being a 1-0 defeat back in April.

Castle Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Melendrez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Melendrez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
As for Mar Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games.
On Mar Vista's side, Anthony Sanchez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, Sanchez posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mar Vista let Daniel Snow and Jayden Tillman run wild. Snow got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Tillman got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. That's the most runs Snow has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Aden Duran, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Castle Park has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Chula Vista on the 13th. As for Mar Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Southwest SD on the 13th.
