After a string of three wins, the Salmen Spartans's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 66-55 to Smith County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Salmen's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Akayla Mcmooain, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds, and Destiny Bennett who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Salmen now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Smith County, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salmen will take on Bogalusa at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bogalusa comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Smith County, they will be playing at home against Monterey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Monterey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Thursday.
