After flying high against the Northern Bedford County Panthers last Wednesday, the Southern Huntingdon County Rockets came back down to earth. Southern Huntingdon County took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Claysburg-Kimmel. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Southern Huntingdon County of the 49-26 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Claysburg-Kimmel was led to victory by Brayden Haney and Elias Ritchey. Haney scored 26 points along with three steals, while Ritchey scored 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Haney has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cory Walter, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.
Southern Huntingdon County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Southern Huntingdon County will head out on the road to square off against Mount Union at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tussey Mountain at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Tussey Mountain will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
