Corner Canyon has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Copper Hills Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Corner Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Corner Canyon faced Herriman in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Corner Canyon managed a 51-46 victory over Herriman.
Corner Canyon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Feroah, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Noah Bendinger was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Copper Hills pushed their score all the way to 70 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 80-70 to Mountain Ridge. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (57), Copper Hills still had to take the loss.
Corner Canyon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Copper Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.
Corner Canyon beat Copper Hills 78-67 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Does Corner Canyon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Copper Hills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
