After losing to String Theory the last time they met, the Sayre Sabres decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Sayre snuck past String Theory with a 42-38 win on Friday.
Sayre's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brionn Veal-Coston, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That makes it six consecutive games in which Veal-Coston has scored at least a third of Sayre's points. Another player making a difference was Kwaudia Carter Lewis, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Sayre's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for String Theory, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sayre will square off against Swenson Arts & Tech at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Swenson Arts & Tech is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for String Theory, they will head out on the road to take on MAST Charter II at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. MAST Charter II comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
