Leroy Greene Academy was beaten by Foothill 52-12. Leroy Greene Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-8.
Despite the loss, Leroy Greene Academy saw an underclassman step up: Anaya Alston scored 6 points. Alston scored a full 50% of Leroy Greene Academy's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Foothill had a senior duo take command as Kaliyah Benjamin-Wade scored 24 points and Zeniah Thompson scored 19 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Thompson has scored at least 25% of Foothill's points. Another player making a difference was Joyce Runner, who scored 5 points.
Leroy Greene Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Foothill, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Leroy Greene Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Western Sierra Collegiate Academy at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for Foothill, they will be playing at home against San Juan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Juan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
