The Sequoia Ravens's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 39-32 to Independence. Sequoia was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Independence apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Independence had a senior duo take command as Ashjeet Kaur scored 17 points and Jodi Regondola scored 13 points.
Sequoia bumped their record down to 4-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Independence, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Sequoia will play host again and welcome Mountain View, where tip off is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Mountain View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday. Independence will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cupertino at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th.
