Dublin is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Wilcox County is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Dublin Fighting Irish will welcome the Wilcox County Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Dublin got the win against Jefferson County by a conclusive 12-2. The Fighting Irish haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Will Wallace and Morgan Davis were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Wallace pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Davis pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Furthermore, Wallace didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February. At the plate, Wallace scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Davis scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, CJ Stubbs was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Six bases. while going 1-for-3. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ryland Yates was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Dublin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson County only posted a batting average of .238.
Meanwhile, everything went Wilcox County's way against Wheeler County on Tuesday as Wilcox County made off with a 12-2 victory.
Like Dublin, Wilcox County also got a great game from a two-way player: Jake Howell. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Howell has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Deacon McDuffie, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Myles Davis, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Dublin's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Wilcox County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dublin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like Wilcox County struggles in that department as they've averaged .356. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
