Baseball Recap: Parkland's Losing Streak Snapped at 19 Games

Parkland can bid farewell to their 19-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-4 margin over the Lexington Yellowjackets. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Mustangs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Orion Jones spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Parkland got a massive performance out of Brandon Bowman, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave Bowman a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Alan Sorrosa, who scored three runs and stole Five bases.

Parkland's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Lexington, their defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coming up, Parkland will venture away from home to challenge Davie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Davie will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Lexington, they will host South Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lexington has given up an average of 17.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
