Gallia Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Point Pleasant Big Blacks at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Gallia Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. Everything went their way against Athens as Gallia Academy made off with a 58-32 win. The win was just what Gallia Academy needed coming off of a 60-31 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Point Pleasant strolled past Fort Frye with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 58-39. The win made it back-to-back wins for Point Pleasant.
Point Pleasant's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carrsen Lambert led the charge by scoring seven points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Grayson Tucker, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Gallia Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Point Pleasant, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Gallia Academy skirted past Point Pleasant 27-25 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gallia Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
