The Franklin Yellowjackets were the 45-36 winner over the Center Cougars when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Franklin took a hard 76-61 fall against Center on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andy McLear, who scored 18 points. McLear set a new season high mark in steals with two. Dominic Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds.
Franklin bumped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Center, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.
Franklin will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Stagg at 7:30 p.m. Stagg comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Center, they will head out on the road to face off against Bear River at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bear River knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Center likes a good challenge.
