Lancaster and Canyon are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Eagles will face off against the Cowboys at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lancaster came out on top against Eastside on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run sixth inning. The Eagles blew past the Lions 12-1. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won eight in a row.

Austin Deleuw made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Lancaster is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-6 otherwise. Deleuw was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Austin Wood and Devyn Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Wood went 1-for-5 with three RBI and two runs, while Brown went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Brown has become a key player for Lancaster: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Morales, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Canyon never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against de Toledo as they made off with an 18-0 win. With that victory, the Cowboys brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Like Lancaster, Canyon also got a great game from a two-way player: William Peck. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Peck a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
In other pitching news, Travis Reeves looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Ronin Turner was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryder Brown, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Canyon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
The win got Lancaster back to even at 7-7. As for Canyon, their record is now 7-8.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lancaster has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .453. However, it's not like Canyon struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lancaster got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Canyon by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
