Simeon has gone 8-2 against Solorio recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Wolverines will square off against the Sun Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Simeon has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Simeon is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering St. Laurence just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 11-0 to the Vikings. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Wolverines were not able to get on the board.
Meanwhile, while Solorio put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Chicago Washington. The Sun Warriors blew past the Patriots 11-0. The result was nothing new for the Sun Warriors, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Robert DeMateo made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Solorio is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. DeMateo was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Josiah Saucedo was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Sebastian Davila also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Solorio was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Solorio has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Simeon, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Simeon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .483. However, it's not like Solorio struggles in that department as they've averaged .487. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Simeon got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Solorio by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sun Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
