Leading Torres to victory were Sabrina Cerrillo and Nevaeh Chavez. Cerrillo scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Chavez scored 19 points along with five steals. Cerrillo has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of J'Lynn Mitchell, who scored three points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Sanger West has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for Torres, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-10.
Sanger West will head out on the road to square off against Sunnyside at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sanger West is facing Sunnyside at the right time seeing as Sunnyside is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Torres, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Madera South at 6:30 p.m.
